In Sylvia's poetry series:
Zen Essence: Fountains, Lanterns, and Paths of:
Returning Home and Luminosity, Book V1
All things – using the symbols and words of fountains, lanterns, paths, and poems are --
one love, intimacy, spirit, and existence “flowing,” “shining,” “leading,” and “speaking”
the same truth of the present moment.
Fountains sing their melody;
music cannot describe
what needs to be felt.
Paths show the way;
trails can only lead to
what needs to be traveled.
Lanterns give their radiance;
light cannot fully show
what needs to be seen.
Poems describe the heart’s freedom;
practice walks through
the gateless gate of freedom.
Unless:
Unless you intuit yourself as one, in unity with all things, and that all life is one existence, you will not perceive Zen.
Unless you intuit that all is well even with imperfection, suffering, and that every day is a fine day, you will not recognize Zen.
Unless you intuit that now is, ‘what it is,’‘ as it is,’ and ‘all there is’ without judgment or discrimination, you will not savor Zen.
Unless you intuit that you do not die nor will you depart, you will not penetrate Zen.
