We have one regularly scheduled monthly meeting usually on the second Monday of the month at 6:20 pm. If there are any schedule changes, they are distributed via email to our mailing list. Follow one of the links below for full meeting details.
On second Mondays: We have our "Zoom virtual meeting" with 25 minutes of meditation session, chanting of the Heart Sutra, an hour talk by Sylvia Chu
or another speaker, followed by big and small group discussions.
At this time after Covid, we no longer meet in person, and potlucks are canceled until further notice.
The Ocean Mountain Zen Village typically meets virtually via Zoom on the second Monday of the month. The schedule has a meditation session of 25 minutes, chanting of the Heart Sutra, a Zen intuitive talk by the teacher, and a big or small group discussion. We no longer have potlucks after the Covid pandemic. There are also opportunities for private one-on-one consultations with the teacher. See below for details. A link will be sent to you after you have responded up to come.
All meditation gatherings at OMZ Village (Ocean Mountain Zen Village) are free, but if you like, a free-will donation/dana/generosity for the support of the teaching and the teacher will be greatly appreciated.
New Rough Schedule:
6:20 Sign in, feel free to greet everyone
6:29 - 6:30 Fish hitting
6:30 - 6:55 Zazen (25 minutes of Sitting Meditation)
6:55 - 7:00 Heart Sutra/Chant
7:00 - 8:00 Teisho (Insightful Zen talk)
8:00 - 8:05 Silence after Teisho
8:05 - 8:30 Discussion/reflection/sharing/questions
8:30 - Social Hour if desired
As usual, we will have time for a deep hearing either in the big or small group setting. It can be heartwarming and meaningful to be heard by our spiritual peers with the same practice. A field of compassion and kindness is created, and we often feel better at the end. Sharing is the gift of self to the group. It helps you and others. Confidentiality is required to create a safe space to share.

Gatherings at OMZ Village are free but we gladly accept your dana (donation) to help this kind of meeting to continue. Dana is a sign of your generosity and gratitude for the teacher and the teaching, which, according to Buddha, is the first sign of a healthy spirituality.
Please send your monthly dana to Sylvia Chu (See Contact Us)
